The Math Problem Hunt

The Math Problem Hunt is a scavenger hunt. Students work in pairs or trios to solve 30 problems in 60 minutes, during the first round. The first 5 teams that complete the math problem hunt during the first round, compete in a second round to solve 30 problems in 30 minutes. The first two teams that complete the second round receive medals and prizes. Competitions are fascilitated by grade band: 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

Math Cafe Event

A Math Cafe is an open-space (gym or multipurpose room) learning environment where students solve various types of math and logic problems. Students work in teams of 4 and have their own work area that consists of a table and stools along with a mat in case they'd like to sit on the floor. Each team is given math materials, tools, and white boards. A snack and beverage kiosk is available throughout the experience. It serves grade bands 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8.

Geometry Labs

Geometry Labs will immerse students in grade bands 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, and 9-12, in various types of hands-on activities to improve their use of tools, as well as understanding of geometry concepts and characteristics of figures.

Algebra Labs

Algebra Labs reinforce students' knowledge and understanding of linear functions. Students in grades 8-10 will complete an algebra experiment in small groups.

You Got Da Vocab?

You Got da Vocab? is a mathematics vocabulary game show. Once registered, contestants will be selected using a random generator. Contestants will receive study guides to prepare. Three students compete using a buzzer system. 

They will view images and expressions on the screen, and state the correct math term. Points are awarded and prizes are given. It serves grade bands 3-4, 5-6, and 7-8. 

Family Math Night

Family engagement is an important key in students' success. Family Math Night will serve K-8 students through fun-filled activities to support academic growth and a love for learning and using mahematics.
